 ABOUT BOLOGNA

Bologna is the regional capital of Emilia Romagna and a compulsory point of passage between the North and South of Italy. Home to one of the oldest universities in the world, the "Alma Mater Studiorum", founded in 1088, Bologna is one of the most developed cities in the country.
For nearly a thousand years, the city of Bologna has witnessed and participated in the production of knowledge and the development of technological innovations.
Bologna has a modern fair district or ‘exhibition area’ which is the second largest in Italy, an efficient congress palace and many modern hospitality facilities and hotels. This sets the backdrop to a rich group of industrial companies of primary importance to the mechanical sector (Lamborghini, Ducati, Ferrari) and in the field of agricultural and food processing.
In addition to its economic importance, Bologna is an attractive cultural region and in the charming historical center many ancient palaces and churches stand as witnesses to the cultural relevance that Bologna has had over the course of the centuries.
Walking along the near 40 kilometres of arcades that decorate Bologna’s streets, one can enjoy the many aspects of this dynamic and constantly buzzing city where glamorous boutiques live together with large and small street markets.
A famous University, delicious cuisine and a blazing sunset, or, as the locals say “The learned one, the fat one and the red one” - This is Bologna.
